Privacy notice

How the masjid uses the details you give us through this website, and the choices you have.

What we collect
Only what each form asks for. For the Madrassah that is the child’s name, date of birth and any medical or additional needs, and the parents’ names, address and contact details. For the Alimiyyah it is your name, date of birth, address and contact details, and what you have studied before. For a nikah it is the names of the couple, the wali and the witnesses, the contact person’s details and the arrangements you ask for. For an open day it is your name, email and mobile number.
Why we collect it
To deal with your application, booking or registration: to contact you about it, to offer a place, to arrange the nikah, to confirm your place at an event, and to keep a record of what was agreed. Parents and students are also sent messages about their class, such as a change of time or a term date.
The emails we send
Every application, booking or registration gets a confirmation email with a reference. After that you hear from us when something changes: an invitation, an offer, a confirmed date, a reminder. Reminders and announcements can be turned off from a link at the bottom of any message. Messages about your own application or booking cannot, because they are how we let you know what is happening.
Who sees it
Masjid staff who handle applications and bookings, and the teachers of the class a child or student joins. Every time a member of staff opens, changes or exports a record it is logged. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else, and nothing is used for advertising.
How long we keep it
While your application or booking is open, then for a year after it closes, so we can answer questions about it. Nikah bookings are kept for a year after the day and open day registrations for 6 months. Records of children and students are kept while they attend and for a year after they leave. After that they are removed.
Where it is kept
On servers in the United Kingdom, protected by passwords and, for staff with wider access, a second sign-in step.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you or your child, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be removed where we no longer need it. Email info@nusratulislam.org or call 07575 044544. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
