Overview
This foundational course is designed to equip students with the skills to read, write, speak and comprehend the Arabic language. Emphasis is placed on Arabic grammar (Naḥw) and morphology (Ṣarf), while steadily building vocabulary and fluency.
The Arabic language has always been the key to accessing the Islamic sciences. This course lays the groundwork for students who wish to engage with classical texts and Qur’anic Arabic with confidence.
Entry requirements
- Applicants must be above the age of 15 (exceptions may be made through assessment).
- Basic ability to read Arabic script, for example Qur’anic reading.
- A genuine commitment to learning and progressing in the Arabic language.

Learners must be available for occasional seminars on weekends, arranged with prior notice.
Qualification
A diploma in Arabic Intensive, which allows learners to enrol on the Comprehensive Islamic Studies course.

£840 for the academic year, paid one of three ways.
